The Potato Research Centre (PRC) uses traditional and leading edge technology in order to develop new potato varieties that possess superior traits. Advanced breeding, coupled with genomics technologies, is used to develop varieties with superior agronomic performance, pest resistance, processing traits and new market potential. The PRC also performs lead research on detection and control of potato diseases, as well as the agronomy of potato production.
