We are on a mission to support highly-innovative Canadian firms, developing new biomass-to-bioproducts technologies, as they seek to commercialise new bio-based products.
BioDesign is a cohort of industry, research and association stakeholders focused on accelerating Canada’s bioeconomy by leveraging growing international and domestic market pull for supply chains that accelerate the transition to a sustainable low-carbon society.
BioDesign’s strategy is designed to be a comprehensive catalyst mobilizing multiple industry partners, attracting international partners and investment, building on regional strengths, creating jobs, and sustaining a strong innovation culture.
Canada’s Bioeconomy Strategy was released on May 14, 2019 which reflects the views of more than 400 industry representative from across the country. With this strategy, industry has addressed the ways in which Canada’s competitive advantages including access to biomass, global leadership in forestry and agriculture, sustainable resource management, and a skilled workfoce, can make Canada a world leader.
