Recruiting: MedTech Showcase in BostonJenn O'Donnell July 28, 2017
The Consulate General of Canada in Boston and MassMEDIC invite emerging Canadian medtech companies to apply to participate in a Canadian Mission to MassMEDIC’s MedTech Showcase, which takes place in Boston on October 26 and 27, 2017. Deadline to apply: August 25, 2017
The most relevant companies are early-stage companies with surgical instrumentation, medical imaging, patient monitoring, or cardiovascular devices. They should be ready to present to potential investors and partners.
Benefits to your company include:
1. Opportunity to impress and meet potential funders and partners on October 27, 2017
If your company is one of the two selected, you can make a 10-minute presentation at the annual MedTech Showcase, organized by MassMEDIC, the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council. This is the annual showcase attended by investors and corporate medical device manufacturers. If you are an early-stage company seeking funding and/or awareness building in the Massachusetts life sciences ecosystem, this is the place to be. [Note: One of last year’s Canadian participants – Covina Biomedical – won an award for the company addressing the most unmet medical need!]
2. Opportunity to pitch to participants in the Canada – U.S. MedTech Networking Dinner on October 26, 2017
Deliver your one-minute elevator pitch to a curated dinner with 25 guests. You can also provide names for our guest list of key local contacts in the medical device/diagnostic industry, health care or funding community with whom you would like to network during this sit-down dinner.
3. Opportunity to tour the Canadian Technology Accelerator and learn about the New England life sciences ecosystem
On the afternoon of October 26, you can tour the Canadian Technology Accelerator and the Cambridge Innovation Center in Kendall Square to learn about this unique program open to Canadian diagnostics, medical devices, biotech, robotics, ICT and research tools companies.
If your company is one of the two Canadian companies selected for this opportunity, there is no charge for registration at the Showcase or any of these additional activities. You will be responsible for your own transportation and accommodations. We will also select two “runners up” who will be invited to the tour and dinner (with elevator pitch opportunity) and will each get a free registration to the Showcase.
TO APPLY: Send a brief (no more than two pages) summary of your business plan by August 25 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please cc: email@example.com so she is aware of your interest.
