Youth Employment Fund Wage Subsidy Program

Government of New Brunswick seeking expressions of interest Jenny Keleher November 17, 2015

This new wage subsidy program allows employers to hire unemployed or underemployed youth (29 years of age and under) for a period of 6 months. The employer is reimbursed for 30 hours/week at a rate of $10.30/hour for the duration of the program. Employers are encouraged to top up hours and wages, however it is not a requirement.

The program is actively trying to match eligible youth with suitable employers and they currently have a number of candidates with either biology or engineering degrees. This is a great opportunity for employers to access qualified individuals to join their team. Beyond the 6 month wage subsidy, companies may be able to access an additional 12 months of support from the One-Job Pledge program.

Employers can submit an expression of interest at https://www.nbjobs.ca/yef/employer or contact Jenn for more information.
