BioDesign is Live!Andrew Byrne September 18, 2019
The organizations behind BioDesign are thrilled to announce the launch of the website, www.canadabiodesign.com
Since May 14th, 2019, when the industry-led Canada’s National Bioeconomy Strategy was released, the BioDesign Consortium (Bioindustrial Innovation Canada, Forest Products Association of Canada, FPInnovations, BIOTECanada and BioNB) has been supporting the development and commercialization of new bio-based products and biomass-to-bioproducts tech that will transform Canada’s abundant and sustainable biomass resources.
BioDesign formed around a collective mission from the public and private sectors to make Canada a low-carbon industrial bioeconomy leader.
BioDesign is the vehicle that will enable Canada to become a leader in the development of biomass value chains. BioDesign has been bringing together key stakeholders to develop and support investments in industries utilizing or serving the biomass industry. We are targeting $6B in economic growth, 64,200 new jobs and greenhouse gas reductions of 4 million tonnes per year by 2030.
The BioDesign website will be one of the driving forces behind information and collaboration between BioDesign and any other organization that wishes to partner with us. You will be able to get relevant and up to date news on the Canadian bioeconomy, find events across the country, sign up for our workshops, and make sure you and your organization don’t lag behind one of the biggest up and coming trends across the globe.
While you are perusing the website, also make sure to check out the 2nd annual BioDesign Conference and Workshop. Not only will you get the opportunity to see speakers such as Jordan Solomon of ECOSTRAT Inc and Alex Ward of Origin Materials, there will also be a workshop involved. The objective of the event and workshop is to share perspectives on the Bioeconomy Strategy and its recommendations and gain feedback and commitment from industry on the next steps for implementation.
Reach out to any one of our supporting organizations to find out how you can be a part of the bioeconomy and help us ensure a sustainable future for all.
