BioNB at The Ocean Supercluster

Andrew Byrne November 18, 2019

On the 7th of November 2019, members of the BioNB team attended the first ever Ocean Supercluster (OSC) Members Kickoff Event.

It was not just a great way to give current members an update on what’s been going on, it also helped drive more organizations to sign up as members. It was a great opportunity for current members to network and further the relationships between organizations that had previously never met.

BioNB was also fortunate enough to have our Executive Director, Jennifer O’Donnell be elected to the OSC Board of Directors as the non-profit representative. As a result, Jennifer was also able to be up on stage with 9 other board members to talk about their goals and ideas for the future of the OSC. The future of the Ocean Supercluster is going to be exciting!

After the members-only conference, there was also an evening mixer that was open to the public which helped foster communication between those who were already members of the OSC and those who were on the fence. All in all, the event was a tremendous success and BioNB looks forward to helping further New Brunswick’s part in this ocean ecosystem.

What was your favourite part?

Cynthia Callahan – “The panel on the innovation ecosystem segment of the OSC and getting to meet in person those names I had only previously known through email.”

Andrew Byrne – “Getting to meet so many people and talk about the future of open collaboration between our respective organizations.”
