Salary: $ 13.00 to 17.00 per hour plus benefits

Terms of employment: term contract position, 40hr per week (Monday- Friday, occasional weekends)

Job Summary

Sylvar Technologies is looking for a person to hire as a both a General Laborer and a Production Technician (30:70) to join their team. The successful candidate will be extremely hands on, hardworking and experienced with both mechanics and construction. Essentially we are looking for the “Handy Person” for our company. The selected applicant will also work in Sylvar’s production lines working directly with insects throughout their entire life cycle.


 Document and Maintain associated paperwork;
 Work in Sylvar’s production lines;
 Ensure quality of equipment is maintained;
 Coordinate & Lead small construction projects as needed;
 Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards;
 Perform preventative and regular maintenance on tools and equipment;
 Clean, repair and maintain machinery, equipment, and tools;
 Prepare reports, input/charting and filing of related documents;
 Attend and participate in project meetings as required; and
 Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


 Ability to communicate effectively;
 Experience performing general workshop duties including the service and maintenance of equipment;
 Strong mechanical aptitude;
 Experience using power tools;
 Ability to work independently ;
 College diploma would be considered an asset;
 Strong work ethic;
 Punctual and reliable;
 Experience working with insects could be considered an asset;
 Ability to work effectively as part of a team; and
 Self-directed, adaptable and able to work within a fast paced, changing environment.
