Dr. Louise Parker will speak on cancer and genomics at this free lunch and learn.
Dr Louise Parker holds the Canadian Cancer Society Chair (Nova Scotia division) in Population Cancer Research and is a joint Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics at Dalhousie University. She has extensive experience in epidemiology research, has authored over 200 research papers, and has acted in advisory roles for UK, EU, and Canadian government bodies. As well as sitting on several national research advisory committees for the Canadian Cancer Society, she is the elected chair of the CIHR Cancer Research Institute Advisory Board. Her research has included work in pediatric, adult life course and cancer epidemiology in the UK and Canada. She is currently the Scientific Director and Principal Investigator of Atlantic PATH – one of 5 regional cohort studies contributing to the national Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project.
