GovMaker 2016 Conferenceadmin January 6, 2017
The New Brunswick Social Policy Research Network (NBSPRN) is proud to host the third annual GovMaker Conference, the premier Open Government conference in eastern Canada. GovMaker advances open government theory and practice by mobilizing knowledge, creating cross-sector relationships, and building the capacity of citizens and governments to engage in open dialogue, open data, and open collaboration.
This year’s conference will take place over two days along the three streams and key principles of open government: participation, transparency, and collaboration. Expert presentations and panels will share knowledge and theories, while workshops will offer tools, resources, and experiences in the nuts and bolts of open government practice.
High profile speakers from past GovMaker Conferences have included Dr. Beth Noveck, Dr. Michael Geist, Paul Macmillan, Dana Chisnell, Zaid Hassan, Dr. Don Lenihan, Santiago Siri, Dr. Henry Mintzberg, and Nora Young.
Whether you are a government employee, a businessperson, a researcher, a student, a community non-profit, or a policy-maker in any sphere, the GovMaker Conference will bring you actively into the latest conversation on open government. And you will leave us with the tools and connections you need to go to the next level by offering participants both a broad view and a specialized focus on the three streams and key principles of open government –participation, transparency, and collaboration– through a mix of panel discussions, keynote addresses, short presentations, concurrent expert workshops, and curated networking events.
