Intellectual property (IP) rights are the engines that drive the knowledge economy and fuel our innovation strategies. An understanding of IP and how to protect it is vital for anyone with an idea.

The Office of Research Services at UNB is pleased to present a full-day Intellectual Property Workshop on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Wu Centre, Fredericton. This professional development workshop is FREE to attend and includes lunch. The morning portion of the workshop will cover the following topics: IP Overview and Protection, IP Ownership and Management and Commercialization Agreements. The afternoon portion of the workshop will focus on Student IP (Ownership, Policies, Case Studies).

The workshop will be focused on IP issues and how they relate to academic research and collaborative projects. While this workshop is open to any interested individuals, it is geared towards faculty, staff and students from academic institutions, as well as industry interested in collaborating with academia on research projects.

The workshop will feature speakers from the University of New Brunswick, Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), Fogler Rubinoff, Barristers & Solicitors and Springboard Atlantic.
