This year’s Atlantic Canada Biorefinery Conference was a great success. With over 100 business professionals, growers, fish processors, foresters, government officials, researchers and academics from Atlantic Canada, Ontario and a few US States attending the event in Shediac New Brunswick – if you weren’t there you missed a great one. Presentations and workshops focused on agriculture, forestry, aquaculture and marine providing participants with the opportunity to learn and engage speakers and other participants on topics related to this burgeoning sector and its potential. This 2 day event included more than just presentations and workshops – participants were treated to site visits, technology demonstrations and plenty of networking opportunities including a hugely successful lobster dinner. Speakers and panelists from Atlantic Canada, Ontario and the United States were focused on how to turn Atlantic Canada’s forestry, agriculture and aquaculture biomass resources into high value added products for the global market. This was the first conference of this nature in Atlantic Canada and feedback from participants was great. Stay tuned to BioAtlantech for the next Atlantic Biorefinery Conference.
