Posting: Plant Managing Engineer

Location: Cornwall, Prince Edward Island

Atlantec BioEnergy Corporation in Cornwall, PEI is a very safe and fast-paced with environment in the bio energy sector. We are currently seeking an individual to work at the position of plant managing engineer, who will be responsible for management of new and existing projects and modifications for equipment reliability improvements as required.


• Conduct economic and operational feasibility studies for new projects and on proposed modifications and/or additions

• Prepare engineering scope of works for plant projects

• Interface with contractors utilized in project work, including solicitation of quotes, selection, and field direction

• Analyze equipment failures to determine causes; develop and recommend solutions

• Evaluate and implement solutions to resolve on-going mechanical maintenance, operation, and technical problems within the plant

• Manage and supervise specialty maintenance services for the Cornwall plant including predictive and preventive maintenance

• Perform structural and mechanical design

• Serve as a resource and lead to the executive and area teams for training, technical assistance, follow-up and trouble shooting

• Maintain, organize, and prepare drawings as required

• Preparation of the plant budgeting process

• Responsible for safety and environmental within the ISO management system as it pertains to specialty maintenance services and projects

• Evaluate professional environmental and safety recommendations and develop engineering solutions to correct deficiencies

• Availability to provide engineering support to a 24 hour operation

• Other duties as assigned.


• Education: Bachelor Degree in Process, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.

• Work Experience: 3-5 years

• Valid passport for travel required for travel


• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills

• Ability to make timely and effective decisions, execute them, and show initiative and results

• Adaptable

• Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to translate technical information to non-technical staff and process area teams

• High leadership involvement

• Ability to plan and prioritize work and be detail-oriented with effective record-keeping

• Ability to build and foster relationships with others

• Self-starter/initiates action/highly motivated team player

• Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to translate technical information to non-technical staff and process area teams

• Knowledge of predictive maintenance strategies preferred

• Experience in renewable energy industry preferred

• Experience managing projects and drafting contracts
