New Brunswick Company Selected as Finalist in Synapse Life Science Competition

Tieös Pharmaceuticals has been selected as a finalist of the Synapse Life Science Competition. Based in Hamilton Ontario, Synapse, is designed to help move innovative life science products and services out of the lab and into the market, by pairing up Life Science Innovators with business and entrepreneurship students. The competition has four phases: team formation, executive summary, commercialization plan, and the final pitch and showcase which is set to take place this coming March.

Tieös Pharmaceuticals is a privately held pre-clinical stage biotech company based in New Brunswick, with the goal of creating novel small molecule inhibitors which target the unique metabolic characteristics of cancer cells. Rather than categorizing cancer as a class of vast genetic mutations that differ on a case-by-case basis, Tieös views cancer’s origin from a metabolic perspective. They believe that current therapies focused on genetic aberrations are treating symptoms of cancer rather than addressing the root cause.
